Where Can I Serve?
–How you can make a change
Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Bethany Church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Many Bethany Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from outreach to summer programs as you will see below. These are some of our needs that you can help us with and be encouraged while serving others. Please check our calendar of events for more information.
Outreach and Service
Bethany is devoted to spreading God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in supporting feeding missions here and abroad with our money, time, and prayers. Currently, we are aiming to feed children in developing countries around the world (“Feed One” campaign: https://www.rca.org/feedone). We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they serve those who are far away or live and minister in our own community.
Counseling and Mercy Ministries
We believe that the first step to recovery and rediscovery of our ‘self’ is saying “I can’t do this alone.” We are preparing ourselves to reach out and invite those who are marginalized in our society to share the renewal and hope that is in our community. Prayer Link
Prayer cannot be underestimated. Prayer changes us and the way we understand God’s work here among us. Bethany Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Before each worship service, people pray for the ministry of the Word and corporate worship. Throughout the week, people pray for their pastor, other leaders, a list of church members, any special requests, and community’s needs. It’s as easy as looking at the prayer request in our bulletin and start investing your time in prayer and reaching out in person.
Ushers
The ushers at Bethany Church fills an important role. They are the helping hands involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free.
Music & Choir & Visual Projection
God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. Some play their instruments. Some sing in the choir. Still others get involved in visual projection of words, lyrics, and background pictures/videos. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry at Bethany, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.
Media & Technology Production
Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of Bethany Church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. Our weekly sermons and other special productions can be uploaded to our website in text, video, or audio formats.
Written Communications
Even in today’s age of technology, there is something heartwarming about getting an old-fashioned letter in the mailbox. People at Bethany work hard to produce these letters to those who are in need of encouragement and to update the church with special messages.
Christian Education Volunteers
In order to give everyone the best Bible teaching possible, Bethany Church holds a regular bible study series for youth and adults throughout the year outside Sunday worship. This also allows the whole family to benefit from our family worship experience on Sundays. This special time gives students more opportunity for personal interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles.
